I am just passing on a request for you to take this quick, anonymous survey in the name of Craft Con 2008 ! By completing 7 multiple choice questions, you can help give the organizers a clearer picture of how the indie craft community at large acquires it’s supplies. Results will be posted on craftcon.org shortly after the close of the event!
In case you didn’t catch our earlier blog about this, Craft Con is a business development conference for the craft community. People who make things of all types, of all backgrounds, will come together to talk about the business side of crafting, how they market themselves, and the philosophies behind it all. The conference will be held April 4-6 in San Francisco, California.

Each year, there’s more and more hype about Cyber Monday- the Monday everyone goes back to work after Thanksgiving and, supposedly, spends tons of cash doing online holiday shopping.
While it does seem to pan out for the large online retailers, there’s no real data that shows if this phenomenon holds true for the little guys. So, we’re curious. Did you see an increase of sales on Cyber Monday? Did you run a special to draw in customers?

Since Craft Revolution is going audio, we thought we’d give you a chance to join in the fun! This time, we want you to post an audio commercial for your website or new product. That’s right!
All you have to do is submit your commercial and we’ll add it to the podcast! Keep it clean, keep the commercial to 60 seconds or less and of course- HAVE FUN!
– Don’t have a microphone? Don’t worry! You can record your commercial over the phone by calling (315) 646-5357.
– Have a microphone but no way to record? Try leaving your commercial as a Voice Message online (on the right side of this website)!
Craft Revolution (of course) reserves the right to deny any commercial based on content, clarity of message and for any other reason deemed necessary.

We need your help!
What for?
Craft Revolution/The IDCA is currently running a study on the ‘politics of crafting’. We are hoping to gain a better understanding of the craft community, the forces which drive it and its strength in the political arena.
What will I have to do?
The survey is a quick, simple questionnaire that should take less than five minutes to complete online.
What about privacy?
There are no questions (such as your name or address) that would allow your answers to be linked back to you.
This is pretty interesting. Can I see the results?
Of course! We’ll post the results on the IDCA website once we reach our goal of submitted surveys
Complete the survey here.

Do you have a favorite crafty book? A ‘bible of craft’ that you refer to whenever the need arises? Something you wouldn’t even let your best friend borrow?
We want to know about them for a future edition of CR!
Post a reply and let us know what your favorite DIY, Craft Instructions or simply inspirational books are. Make sure you tell us why you love them so much!
