About

One vision.

It is a paradigm of sorts. Two women, thousands of miles apart, from very different backgrounds. Somewhere, in the far reaches of each woman’s mind, quietly whispered the same realization: It was time for a revolution. The Craft Revolution, that is.

How was it that these women from such diverse origins would all come together and realize that they shared this vision? It was a fateful day that Co-Founder Tamara Dourney  set the wheels of providence into motion. She posted to an online community for independent business women and typed, “I’ve been thinking”. When Georgia Hadley  and others read the words that followed, their own quiet thoughts were amplified, and The Craft Revolution was born.

Within days of that initial post, a dynamic team of intelligent, resourceful women had formed and concocted a plan to launch CraftRevolution.com, the ultimate guide to the new world of craft.

Less than a week after its launch, CraftRevolution.com had amassed a following of hundreds, welcoming many new visitors and newsletter subscribers daily.

Since that launch, founding members have left the Craft Revolution staff due to increasing demands of life and work, but still remain our friends and colleagues. We have also been joined by others who help us as we strive to reach our goal.

Why a revolution? Why now?

The average person thinks of a craft as a project that a child does in school with pipecleaners and popsicle sticks. The true definition and value of craft has been lost in today’s time-starved, convenience-driven society.

Craft Revolution is restoring the awareness and appreciation of crafts in today’s world by promoting them, and the talented people who create them, as high-value, desirable alternatives to the mundane.

Craft Revolution produces an interactive, high-quality editorial website that both educates the public and helps crafters and buyers connect through shared resources, and a mutual appreciation of true craftsmanship.

By bringing together craft professionals and buyers alike, CraftRevolution.com is creating a well-informed, powerful community.

Together, we are redefining the world of craft.

These are Revolutionary Times.

The quiet thought that once whispered in the minds of a few women has quickly become a booming drumbeat that unifies hundreds across the globe. The true, magnificent meaning of craft is becoming alive again. Clearly, it is time for a revolution.
